Plants By Laurali The Saint Bridget Witchcraft Mini Field Guide

The Saint Bridget Witchcraft Mini Field Guide covers Brigid’s magick, Imbolc holiday, and domestic witchcraft with Plants By Laurali! Working with the triple goddess will keep the home fires burning in your heart. Goddess Brigid is known as the goddess of crafts, metalworking, childbirth, cleansing, and protection!

When I think of Saint Bridget, I think of the fire element! She reminds me of a warm campfire, candle magick, and cooking while practicing house witchcraft. She is a domestic goddess after all!

I also think of water witchcraft when I think of her, as she is associated with wells and waterways! Saint Bridget brings about cleansing, healing, emotional release, and purification.

Who is Saint Bridget? Saint Bridget is a triple goddess derived from Kildare, Ireland back in ancient times. She is a Celtic deity with a ton of magic lore and legend surrounding her.

I recommend studying and researching when starting any kind of deity work! There are many great books about Saint Bridget out there. You just have to find one that clicks!

What is a triple goddess? A triple goddess is a female deity representing the maiden, the mother, and the crone later in life. She is also associated with Christianity and sainthood, and this is the form in which I work with her the most.

In my green hearthcraft practice, I am quite comfortable working with saints. When I need an instant miracle, I turn to Saint Expedite with great urgency. When I need to learn something long-term, I turn to Saint Bridget for advice!

Make no mistake! Saint Bridget can and often does work fast. She is a ball of fiery, red-headed energy that clears everything from your path that no longer belongs there. I often equate her energy to that of Archangel Michael, who was also canonized as a saint.

Saint Bridget is wonderful for learning lessons in patience! It took me forever to write this article because she insisted I start with candle magick and the fire element first. She knows the order in which things should go!

The Saint Bridget Witchcraft Mini Field Guide

As we are in the heart of the Imbolc holiday season, I created the Saint Bridget mini field guide! The Imbolc holiday is a warm and cozy holiday dedicated to the goddess Brigid. It occurs annually on February 1st.

I’ve been working with Saint Bridget for decades, but rekindled my relationship with her this winter. She is a powerful ally and a good friend to have in your life. You can pray to her about anything, as you can talk to her like an old friend.

Saint Bridget is a fiery, red-headed goddess who often shows up in your dreams when you begin working with her! It’s not uncommon to catch glimpses of her red hair wherever you go. She is a clear communicator and speaks directly to the fire in your heart.

When you find yourself depressed, anxious, or worried the fire in your heart begins to wane. I’ve found that she comes to your aid in dark, difficult times, igniting the fire in your heart again. Her job is to help you keep the home fires burning!

You can call on Brigid Magick in the way you feel most comfortable with. As she is a triple goddess, you can call on her in maiden, mother, or crone form for wisdom. If you feel more comfortable working with her saint form, you can call on Saint Bridget!

I have found Saint Bridget to be quite versatile and easy to work with! She cares about people from all ethnic groups and backgrounds. I usually feel a warm, tingling, burning energy when I call on her.

Even though the Imbolc holiday is her favorite season, she’s always there when you need her! Once she’s in your life, she will never leave your side. If you are devoted to her, she will be equally devoted to you!

It’s important to keep in mind that Imbolc represents the first inklings of springtime. Therefore, Saint Bridget is also a goddess of springtime! When the blooms grow and the butterflies emerge from their cocoons, this is where you can find Saint Bridget hidden in plain sight.

How to Work With Saint Bridget

To work with Saint Bridget and understand her magic better, I would start with research! Read books about her, study her magic, and spend time near fires and waterways. She’s easy to contact in her sacred places.

I would also recommend starting a conversation with her, also known as prayer! Tell her what you’d like to learn from her, as well as anything you’d like to disclose about yourself.

For prayer work, walking in Mother Nature usually does the trick! Simply head to your favorite park and tell her what’s on your mind. When you feel ready, you can ask her for help by telling her what your problems are.

Talking to Saint Bridget is like talking with an old friend! I find she’s easygoing and friendly. You can tell her anything and she will never judge you.

To create a bond with Saint Bridget, I would create a friendship bracelet for her! You can wear it in honor of her. Since Saint Bridget loves arts and crafts, she will appreciate the effort you put into it!

You can find friendship bracelet tutorials online. You can include her favorite colors of greens, reds, and golds. You can even add a little cross, as the cross symbolizes her venture into sainthood.

I would also recommend making a Saint Bridget Altar and giving her regular offerings! She enjoys crosses, cows, candles, and poetry. You can even craft something for her as an offering!

Saint Brigid Magick

When you feel ready, you can graduate into practicing Saint Brigid Magick! This is magick that is powered by Saint Bridget. I consider this to be intermediate to advanced-level witchcraft and well worth the process.

Saint Brigid's witchcraft often involves the elements of water and fire. Therefore, you can incorporate these two elements into the spell you’d like to do.

For example, if you feel compelled to work with her water witchcraft energy, you can turn your bathtub into a sacred space dedicated to working with her well magick, as she is known for wells and waterways. You can even use something as mundane as washing your face into a spell and ask Saint Brigid to boost it!

If, on the other hand, you feel compelled to work with her fire witchcraft energy, you can burn a spell in a fireplace or a mini cauldron with a charcoal disc and some of her favorite herbs. She enjoys elderberry, chamomile, lavender, and cinnamon, to name a few. Additionally, you can practice candle magic and incense burning when working with her!

I always boost and power my spellwork with prayers! I pray before starting spellwork and for days or weeks after. Prayer, especially to a saint, can take your spellwork to whole new levels!

You can also work with animal familiars associated with Saint Bridget! She has a fondness for cattle, including cows, sheep, and sometimes pigs.

Animals of Saint Bridget

Cows - Represent abundance, money magick, fertility, motherhood, and nourishment. Cows can help you bring prosperity into your life!

Sheep - Represent Christianity, innocence, sacrifice, and purity. Sheep can help you discover your inner child!

Pigs - Represent good fortune, sacrifice, prosperity, and abundance!

It’s important to keep in mind the things Saint Bridget is known for when crafting powerful spells! She enjoys arts and crafts, poetry, jewelry making, and cooking. I consider her a domestic goddess, first and foremost!
