Ostara is one of my favorite holidays! I adore the spring months leading up to summer. Ostara represents the novelty of things, fresh energy, and the beginning of the astrological new year.
When I think of Ostara, I always think of the Easter holiday, which reminds me of bunnies, eggs, and little ducklings. All of the things associated with birth, fertility, and new beginnings, which is what springtime is all about.
The spring equinox is a turning point in the year when we can start over and begin again. It’s a period of sunlight, the fire element, and Mars-inspired energy.
Mars is highly active during the spring equinox and Ostara Holiday! As Aries Season begins, we become fueled to create change in our lives. We might experience a newfound motivation, excitement, and passion for the things we love and care about.
As much as I love the Mabon Holiday + autumnal equinox, I adore the spring equinox just the same! It’s a time when everything is colorful, bright, and teeming with life-force energy. Everything becomes new again!
It’s a wonderful time to plant the seeds of the future! You might benefit from starting new projects and working on something that brings out your creative side. This is a period of great abundance and possibility!

What I love about the spring equinox is the way it makes me feel! It feels like a fresh start. It reminds me of the sunrise with new creative ideas, new ventures, and a fresh start.
Nothing can hold you back during the spring equinox! There is a lot of forward movement, action, and motivation to get things done. You might feel quite productive and accomplished during this time!
The magic behind the spring equinox is that hope springs eternal! This is a season for hope, renewal, and moving forward fearlessly.
You might like to work with the Goddess Ostara during the spring equinox, after whom the holiday is aptly named. She is the Germanic goddess of springtime!
The tale goes she transformed a bird into a hare, and the hare responded by laying colorful eggs. When I think of her, I think of Easter, the international holiday that brings to mind Easter egg hunts, chocolate bunnies, and springtime dresses and sandals.
Even though I worship deities from the Greco-Roman pantheon, I have always loved working with Goddess Ostara! She can be inspiring, creative, and fun to work with. She brings out my childlike side!
To work with Ostara, paint Easter Eggs with pastel colors and glitter, and leave them for her as an offering. She loves fun, playful offerings that ignite her creative spark.
In addition to working with Ostara, you might enjoy working with the Goddess Persephone! Persephone is the Greek goddess of flowers and springtime. She can help you open up like a flower and bloom!
Persephone spends six months of the year in the underworld with her husband Lord Hades. In the springtime, she returns home to her mother Demeter, and dots the land with her signature flowers.
If you’d like to work with Persephone, spend time in a butterfly garden or a field of flowers in bloom. This is where she is most in her element! Talk to her like an old friend and you will feel her presence.
You will begin seeing signs of nature with both Ostara and Persephone! Butterflies, caterpillars, bunnies, ducklings, and blooms might make an appearance.
This is a pagan holiday for spending time outside with Mother Nature! I highly recommend going for long hikes, picking wildflowers (be sure to thank them!), and spotting bunnies, birds, and blooms.

To make the most out of the Ostara Holiday and spring equinox, spend time in nature! This is a wonderful time to be outdoors. When I take long walks in nature, I can feel the presence of spirit.
While hiking, you can often find me praying, wildcrafting, foraging, and creating spells as a solitary green witch. During Ostara, I try to do lots of outdoor activities that vibe with the spirit of the holiday.
This includes spending time in the garden, planting seeds with intention, creating potted plant spells with eggshell fertilizer, and hiking in the forest. I always pray to the goddesses of springtime or honor them in some way. I love giving them offerings of springtime flowers, eggs, and chocolate bunnies.
