The Mini-Witch’s Guide to Imbolc Holiday
This is a blog post on the Mini-Witch’s Guide to Imbolc Holiday with the Celtic Goddess Saint Bridget of Kildare, Ireland! The witchy holiday is associated with the first inklings of springtime, shadow work, and Imbolc Fire Symbolism.
Imbolc is one of my favorite holidays! It represents the beginning of spring and it marks the halfway point between winter solstice and the spring equinox. Most of all, it represents the Celtic Goddess Brigid.
She is someone that I have worked with for decades and her energy is as warm and potent as that of Archangel Michael. Together, they are a powerhouse! If you ever find yourself in dire need, build a fire with the two of them.
Imbolc is a slow holiday, meaning it represents a period of reflection, healing, and shadow work. It’s a time of slowing down in the winter months with the tiny budding of springtime.
From February 1st to the sundown of February 2nd, the witchy holiday Imbolc makes a grand entrance! This holiday serves as a reminder that winter is coming to an end and springtime is coming near. This is a time when grasses and flowers are budding and beginning to bloom!
Imbolc falls in the in-between realm of the darkness of wintertime and the dawning of the spring months. It represents a verdant time of growth in the darkness, where shadow work begins and healing takes place. I consider it a period of self-care and loving yourself.
The magic of the Imbolc holiday lies in the darkness and the coming light! The veil will become thicker during Imbolc, which can hide information and obscure truths. The important thing to remember here is the ability to be able to trust yourself and the information you have on hand.
To celebrate the Imbolc holiday, spend some time getting to know it! Grow comfortable in both the darkness and the light and all things in between. It’s important to become cozy and comfortable in your skin here.
The Mini-Witch’s Guide to Imbolc Holiday
If you’d like to celebrate the Imbolc holiday, you need nothing more than to spend time with yourself! This is a magical holiday that is all about self-love, self-care, and learning how to blossom open like a flower.
If you are into deity work, I highly recommend working with Saint Bridget during Imbolc. Saint Bridget is fast-acting, genuine, warm, and strong. She has warm and cozy vibes that remind me of a fireplace or sitting around a campfire.
To connect with Saint Brigid, put on some fun Celtic music! There’s a ton of great Celtic music on YouTube that will get you in the mood for Imbolc. When you connect with the Goddess Bridget, you connect with the fire symbolism of springtime and the coming sunlight.
Days begin to grow longer and brighter and the darkness begins to fade away. Saint Bridget is someone who is into arts and crafts and healing maladies. Her elements are fire, the sun, and the bright and colorful flowers of the spring.
Spending time with Saint Bridget every Imbolc holiday is a wonderful tradition you can incorporate into your life as a green witch. She can be called upon for art, poetry, music, childbirth, domestic animals, and powerful protection. I love calling on her for involvement in the arts.
When I am in strong need of protection, I visualize a powerful flame of protection engulfing me. I often will include Archangel Michael in this, as they often work together and have a similar vibe. I imagine them as my flame of protection!
Imbolc is a wonderful holiday for doing slow, calming activities that involve slowing down and making transformative changes. After all, the Imbolc flame represents transformation. When you use the Imbolc fire, you burn things off, you clarify things.
This is the holiday for getting to know yourself! It’s my favorite holiday for focusing on self-care and creativity. This can be done by doing creative activities that Saint Bridget inspires within you.
You might enjoy writing poetry, creating artwork, and embracing your inner child at this time! Imbolc holiday has similar properties to New Moon Energy. So, if you vibe with the new moon, you’ll most likely find Imbolc resonates with you on many levels.
Imbolc brings up a myriad of emotions! Most of all, it taps into your creative, feminine side. Yes, even if you are a man! Imbolc has something for everyone.
Both men and women have a feminine and masculine side. Imbolc just happens to bring out the feminine side with loving, nurturing, moon-like qualities.
You might find yourself wanting to spend time at home or in the kitchen. It’s the optimal time to practice green kitchen witchcraft with fire and hearth. You might enjoy cooking a roast in a simmer pot or baking potatoes.
You’ll find yourself veering toward foods that create a fire in your belly. Warm and cozy foods with nourishment that make you feel safe, warm, and loved.
It’s a time of breaking out the crayons and coloring book, listening to music, crafting jewelry, enchanting nature-inspired items, and journaling on what life will be like in the future. It’s a time of planning, dreaming, and enjoyment! It’s a powerful springtime renewal for everyone.
