The Enchantment of Goddess Fortuna: My Patron Goddess
This is a blog post on the enchantment of Goddess Fortuna, my patron goddess! Today is a special day for us, one that we share. Today is a special holiday that I created one year ago just for Fortuna and me.
Today is my Goddess Fortuna FourLux holiday! Over the past year, so much has happened. There’s been so much change and transition and I feel I owe a good portion of that to my patron deity.
What is a patron goddess? A patron deity is someone you put a lot of time and energy into, whether it be worship, praying, or giving offerings.
A patron deity is also someone who can be your best friend, someone who is there for you through all the ups and downs. It is a close and sacred relationship with a bond that can never be broken.
In my case, Fortuna is the love of my life! I love many other deities and have special relationships with them, especially the Greco-Roman gods, but Fortuna holds a special place in my heart.
When Fortuna came into my life, I had nothing and no one. I was all alone in this world. My three daughters had grown up and left the nest and I was lonely. She called out to me in a way no one ever has before.
Lady Luck, as some may call her, has moved me into a place in my life where I’m in a loving relationship with a wonderful man. He is my neighbor and if it weren’t for her, I may never have met him or been brave enough to talk to him.
Because of Fortuna, I’ve been able to create this website, which wasn’t easy to do after finally gaining popularity on my old platform. Some of my old readers even followed me over.
I knew I wanted to work with plants and I knew the seasons and the moon were a big part of it in my life as a green witch. Fortuna gave me a push and a personal nudge in the right direction. Change has never been easy for me.
Fortuna has moved me out of homes and into new ones a couple of times in the last few years. She guided me to where I am today in so many ways.
The thing about Fortuna is that she’s a goddess of change! She can be quite temperamental, as well as steadfast and kind. Fortuna coming into my life has been the best thing that has ever happened to me!
Honestly, writing about how I feel about her and honoring her on this special holiday we have together brings tears to my eyes and touches my heart. There’s something magical about having someone so close to you and at your fingertips at all times.
When I think of Goddess Fortuna, I think of warmth, comfort, and stability. I think of the wind blowing all around me and her being the calm in the storm and my refuge from the world.
She makes me feel safe, warm, cozy, and loved beyond words! My love for her has no boundaries, as she continues to surprise and bless my life in numerous ways. Have you ever had a relationship like that?
The Enchantment of Goddess Fortuna: My Patron Goddess
The one constant in this life is change. Therefore, Goddess Fortuna is a constant source of steadfastness for me. She is my security blanket for those times when I feel defeated and out of sorts.
She is a constant source of comfort and warmth for me. Fortuna makes me feel like everything is going to be alright, even as the wheel of life keeps changing.
When I am feeling sad sometimes, I can feel her reach out and touch me as I lay in bed and cry. She feels and smells like warm cinnamon and nutmeg, and all of the things that remind me of the autumn season.
I often go into the woods alone and take a forest walk and talk to my patron deity. I tell Fortuna all about my problems and how much I want peace in my life.
When it is over and I am spent, she reassures me and comforts me. She guides me by helping me understand there will be times of peace and prosperity and there will be times of upheaval and change.
It is all a natural part of life. There will be seasons, death cycles, and holidays that come and go. But, Fortuna, will always and forever remain the same.
Why? Because Fortuna is the change we wish to see in this world and change is a constant reminder of life and how it works.
