The Summer Witchcraft Field Guide
The Summer Witchcraft Field Guide explores summer solstice rituals and summer witchcraft spells with Plants By Laurali! This is a great time of year to practice green witchcraft by spending time in the forest or by simply enjoying a summer beach day.
During the summer solstice season, the veil becomes thinner, and the earth becomes scorching hot. This is a great time of year to spend time in and around bodies of water to cool off. There’s a lot of magic that can be had with watercraft!
This time of year is the optimal time to see a fairy, gnome, or undine (water spirit). When the veil is thin during midsummer, you can see things you normally wouldn’t see with the naked eye. If seeing a nature spirit is on your bucket list, be sure to head deep into the forest at noontime!
Another witchy thing you can do this summer is practice sea witchcraft or, depending on where you live, you can practice swamp witchcraft. Again, cooling off will probably be a priority in this hot summer heat! Therefore, practicing water witchcraft is made easy.
You can do this by visiting the beach and wildcrafting for the summer solstice! Things like seashells, seaweed, sea glass, and driftwood can be used as spell ingredients. You can do the same if you live near a freshwater lake or by collecting smooth rocks by a stream.
The summer season is associated with fire! Therefore, any kind of sun magick or fire witchcraft makes for a great addition to your witchy arsenal.
You can do this by lighting bonfires on the beach or creating a campfire ritual. Even lighting sparklers for the fourth of July can be crafted into a spell that works wonders! As an Aries fire sign, some of my best spells were created with fire magick.
This time of year makes you want to stay indoors, especially if you live in a hot, muggy place like Florida. It makes you want to hibernate. Therefore, it would be the ideal time to do shadow work!
Summer magick can be used for any kind of prosperity spell! Summer is a time of warmth, growth, and fruitfulness. The Summer Solstice, also known as Litha, offers us a bright light in all the darkness.

What are some things you can do this summer to bring out your inner witch? The most important advice I can offer you is to try to spend as much time in nature as possible! Camping, hiking, beachcombing, swimming, and mushroom hunting can all become great pastimes this summer.
Get comfortable in your own skin and listen to your body. Summer really helps you to peel off the layers, as we reach record highs in temperature.
You might find yourself eating less and eating more organically during the hot summer months. It’s so hot out, you might find it refreshing to eat cold meals that cool you down.
Things like summer salads, fruit salads, detox water, and acai bowls are perfect for the hot, muggy summer months ahead! It’s important to stay hydrated and drink a lot of water, especially this time of year!
This is a magical time of year for making natural changes to your body and health! During every summer solstice and winter solstice, I always set an intention to have beautiful health and wellness. I usually always kick ass with this intention.
This year, I also set the intention to get in the best shape of my entire life! This shifts the focus to toning up and taking good care of my body through exercise. For me, that includes hiking, walking, cycling, pilates, and yoga witchcraft.
Why choose health and wellness for my summer and winter intention? These points in the year are power days in which the sun is at its zenith. The sun represents health, wellness, happiness, childhood, and healing!
I recommend setting a summer solstice intention for health and wellness! This is the ideal time of the year for making physical and mental changes to your body.
During the summer, you might find yourself slowing down and practicing calming activities. Even something as simple as creating a homemade lemonade spell can be powerful this time of year!
You can use summer witchery for weather witchcraft, as rainstorms are a big part of the summer season. Then, stay indoors, and enjoy the rain while you craft a summer salad spell!
The summer witchcraft field guide is for the seasonal witch! Each season of life has something new and magical to offer. What kind of magic will you create this summer?
