December Green Witch Forecast: Winter Solstice

This is your December Green Witch Forecast on the Winter Solstice! The spiritual meaning of December is all about endings and new beginnings, as we approach the end of the year. This is also when the Christmas holiday season rolls around to create excitement, depending on your faith.

As a nature witch, I am familiar with seasonal shifts, weather changes, and astrological forecasts. A big part of my craft is working with monthly magic!

Through the years, I’ve begun to see the patterns and themes each month brings. Even though the planets may be doing different things each year simultaneously, an overall theme tends to emerge that can help us navigate each month.

In December, you’ll experience nourishment for the soul, warmth, and a period of darkness. When the days are shorter and the nights are longer, we tend to go inward and reflect on the new year ahead.

It’s a time of setting New Year’s resolutions, as we set our intentions for the future. In November, we experienced growth, expansion, and abundance on a new level. It was a time of plentitude and thanks.

In December, we are completing tasks and finishing things up for the year. It is a time of closing out cycles, saying goodbye to the past, and reflecting on what we have learned throughout the year.

On that same note, December is also a time to start over again! It’s a time of new beginnings and fresh opportunities. During this time, we may find ourselves setting goals for the future and preparing to achieve them.

I love this time of year! Not only do I love the winter holidays, but I also enjoy creating my New Year’s resolutions and keeping the promise I made for myself.

Last year, my New Year resolved to make new social connections in my personal life and business. Guess what? That’s exactly what I did!

Therefore, this is the time of year to start thinking about what you want to achieve in the following year. It’s also a great time to reflect on the past year and how you have grown and changed.

The spiritual meaning of December is all about endings and new beginnings! It’s all about preparing for the new year ahead by setting goals and intentions, as well as initiating new projects.

This is the time of year when the ground is frozen and we are forced to spend more time indoors with our family and friends. You may have a busy social calendar and experience a lot of hustle and bustle during the winter holiday season.

December also creates a turning point in the year with the Winter Solstice! The Winter Solstice is a time of rebirth, renewal, and a time of nourishment and light.

We find ourselves setting lofty goals and New Year’s Resolutions, as we are inspired by the planetary magic of Neptune in the twelfth house.

The Sun God Apollo: The Return of the Sun Gods

During December, you might like to start working with the Greco-Roman God Apollo! Apollo is the god of the sun and light. He represents a return to the sun gods! Lord Apollo is also the god of enlightenment and can help you learn new things. His library of knowledge is expansive! He can help you with creating New Year’s Resolutions, especially those pertaining to health and fitness. He is motivating, inspiring, and down to earth!

Spirits to Work With For Setting Goals and Keeping Them

Here are some additional spirits you can work with to set goals and achieve them for the coming year ahead! The spirit helpers I picked out can assist you in creating New Year’s Resolutions and sticking with them. Doing so will put you one step ahead for the new year!

  • Lord Ares - The Greek God Ares can provide you with fitness motivation and the courage to achieve your goals! He is also the god of great strength and can help you start a yoga or weight training regimen that is built to last. Even though Ares is the god of war, he can help you push through when you find yourself waning. To call on Ares during the Winter Solstice, build a fire! Ares loves the fire element and feels most at home there. Stare into the fire and talk to Ares about what goals you’d like to achieve and which areas of your life could use a little motivation. Things will become clear soon enough!

  • High John the Conqueror - You’ve probably heard of High John the Conqueror root, which was aptly named after the African-American folk hero. John the Conqueror was a slave in America who was known for his trickery and ability to outsmart people! He is well-known amongst Hoodoo and folk magic practitioners. High John the Conqueror can open the road to love, money, and success to you! To call on him, hold a conqueror root in your dominant hand each night and ask him for something you really want. It must be of high importance to you! Do it each night until you receive your wish fulfillment. Warning: He works fast! I wanted a new digital SLR camera and within 10 days, I received it. I feel blessed to work with him and you will, too!

  • Nature Spirits - The nature spirits, also known as the fairy folk, are probably the most prominent spirits you can call on during a life transition. They live in the in-between realm, also known as the lower realm, in another realm within the Earthly realm. They are easily accessible, but you have to play nice and follow their rules. You have to make friends first by picking up trash and caring for the planet. You can easily reach them on a nature walk!

  • Deer Animal Familiar - Deer animal spirit represents a gentle approach to setting goals and achieving them! The deer spirit denotes childlike magic and understanding, as well as creativity, kindness, and good luck. To connect with the gentle energy of the deer animal spirit, spend time in a forest, even if there’s snow on the ground. Leave a reindeer food offering. My kids and I used to create reindeer food every Christmas with oats and edible glitter. Ask the deer spirit for what you’d like to achieve and leave an offering of gratitude and thanks!

As you can see, December is a month for nurturing the spirit, generosity, and warmth. It’s a time when we return to the sun gods! Use December as a catalyst for great change and goal-setting in your life. Welcome to December! I’ll see you in the new year for your January Green Witch Forecast.
