My Goddess Fortuna FourLux Holiday

My Goddess Fortuna FourLux Holiday for celebrating my patron goddess, Fortuna worship, and the Wheel of Fortune tarot card with Plants By Laurali! Every year on September 27th, I celebrate a private holiday with my patron deity.

Last year, I wrote my patron goddess Fortuna a letter and sealed it in an envelope with herbs, crystals, and pressed flowers. Otherwise known as an herbal envelope spell made in her honor.

I also made her an herb-infused candle and my house almost lit on fire. I put all the wrong ingredients in it and the flame went all the way to the top of the ceiling. I poured water on it and it seemed to make it angrier.

Eventually, I was able to safely put the fire out and had a huge mess to clean up afterward. Honestly, Fortuna and I kind of laughed about it afterward, but it was scary! This was the beginning of FourLux, my Goddess Fortuna holiday celebration.

This year, I am currently preparing for Hurricane Ian as I write this. So far, we’ve spent the day doing protection spells around my house and property using snowflake and gold sheen obsidian. Luckily, Fortuna is very understanding!

After that, I kind of knew our connection would only grow stronger. I also knew something unfortunate or unlucky might happen every FourLux holiday.

Why? Because Goddess Fortuna is the goddess of change! She is fickle, temperamental, and yet the most stable and grounded force in my life.

Goddess Fortuna is my shelter from the storm. She is my calm and center throughout all the chaos and change life constantly brings.

She’s been with me through my darkest times and in my happiest hour. She is my best friend and the love of my life. Without Fortuna, I honestly don’t know where I’d be right now.

This is why I decided to create a special holiday for the two of us. September 27th, in ancient Roman times, was a holiday for Goddess Fortuna Redux, the goddess who always brought the ships and soldiers back home from war.

Fortuna Redux is the goddess who protects travelers and keeps things safe on the homefront. She is the goddess of comfort, stability, security, and safety. Fortuna Redux is the aspect of the ancient Roman Goddess Fortuna that most resonates with me.

I’m always looking for a safe harbor and shelter from the storm. In recent years, I’ve had to move a lot and I will probably be moving again in the nearby future. I am looking for a safe place to land on a more permanent basis.

Goddess Fortuna, my best friend, has been with me through everything. Through every move I’ve made and every house I’ve lived in. She travels with me wherever I go, whatever I do. She is the eye of the storm, where everything is calm, quiet, and still.

I created FourLux in honor of my Goddess Fortuna worship! You can also leaf through my Fortuna Luck Altar to learn more about my patron goddess. She’s wonderful and I am the luckiest girl in the whole wide world to have her as my patron deity!

My Goddess Fortuna FourLux Holiday

What is FourLux? I designed FourLux as my Goddess Fortuna holiday using the number four and the name Lux as my inspiration.

The number four is the foundation on which everything is built, especially the ability to make a house a home. The number four spiritual meaning represents stability, groundedness, family, celebration, and home and hearth. Four also happens to be my favorite number!

When I think of Fortuna Redux, I always think of the number four! This is because Fortuna is like a home built to last. She’s a fortress that can weather any storm.

I chose the name “Lux” to represent the light that Fortuna Redux brings into my life. The name Lux means light and brings to mind joy, sincerity, and guidance through all the darkness.

This is how the FourLux holiday was born! I put the two meanings together to create my special patron goddess holiday.

FourLux Holiday Plans

For the holiday, I am devoting the entire day to Goddess Fortuna Redux! On a typical day, I devote different aspects of my day to the Gods I worship. Today is all about her.

I plan to spend the day in prayer and worship, sending all my love and prayers only to Fortuna! I am going to do some journaling, and tarot readings, and create a spell jar offering for her. Mostly, I like doing nice things for her, as she is good to me.

Every morning, I devote my daily yoga practice to Fortuna and this morning was no exception. I even played one of the playlists I created for her while I did my advanced vinyasa flow!

For dinner, I am making dinner for the two of us. I am making spinach and mushroom pasta for us with olive oil dressing. I am making it in her honor and adding a spell to it for protection.

I feel like protection is the most important thing right now with Hurricane Ian coming in strong, so that’s where my priorities are. Today, we (Fortuna and I) are working on creating protection to ensure me and my loved ones are safe.

It will probably be a quiet day with Fortuna, but any time I get to spend with her is special, so I don’t mind. It’s a day of celebrating the little things in life.

Thanks for reading, friends! xo. I’m glad I could share my special Fortuna holiday with all of you. Maybe it will inspire you to learn more about Fortuna and her magic!
